A Letter from Hospital President Jere Stocks
In 2005, Washington Adventist Hospital developed a Vision for Expanded Access designed to meet the community's needs by enhancing access to health care for all and providing improved facilities and services. The Vision includes specific initiatives and programs, such as the creation of a Center on Health Disparities, along with plans to build a 21st century hospital campus near the White Oak area.
Getting Back to Life
For more than five years, leg pain had been a part of Anthony Parrucci’s daily life. Anthony, who was accustomed to participating in regular exercise and outdoor activities, was suffering from arthritis. He was reminded of his condition each time he attempted to walk up the steps of his home, and the pain in his leg seemed to worsen with each step.

Like any other work day, Dennis Lue was on top of a ladder getting ready to begin his day when suddenly he began to perspire uncontrollably. Without warning, he began to feel nauseous and felt a dull pain in his chest.
Language of Care / Lenguaje de Cuidado
“…You cannot begin to imagine how grateful I am for the best treatment I received while staying at Washington Adventist Hospital,” writes Juan Garcia in a letter to Bertha Castrillon.

Living a Healthier Life, Tobacco-Free
Our heritage as an advocate for healthier living began nearly 150 years ago when our sponsoring organization, the Seventh-day Adventist Church, took an early stance against tobacco in the 1800s and began smoking cessation programs in the 1960s. To continue this legacy, Washington Adventist Hospital is adopting a tobacco-free policy on Thursday, November 15, 2007.
