Shady Grove Adventist Hospital has been serving the emergent needs of the community for nearly 25 years. Our Emergency Department is staffed with more than 140 nurses, doctors and support staff who are board-certified and specially trained in emergency medicine.

We are committed to providing the best and safest possible care for our patients as we strive to make the hospital experience a positive one. In 2006, Shady Grove Adventist Hospital treated over 84,000 patients or an average of approximately 230 per day, making us the second busiest Emergency Department in the state of Maryland, second only to Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. Between August and December of that year, over 7,000 additional patients were treated at our new Shady Grove Adventist Emergency Center in Germantown, MD.

Shady Grove Adventist Hospital has Montgomery County's first and most experienced Pediatric Emergency Department, which is open 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week. Our Pediatric Emergency Department is staffed by board-certified pediatric emergency physicians, pediatric nurses and specialty pediatric medical professionals, including radiologists, anesthesiologists and surgeons.
