Sharon Francz, LPN
Cancer Care Navigator
Sharon Francz is the Cancer Care Navigator for Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. Sharon is a nurse, with 17 years experience in a variety of settings and roles, with a rich experience working with persons with cancer. Prior to coming to Shady Grove in 2006 in her current role, Sharon worked in a hospital setting, as a home care nurse, as a hospice nurse, as a study coordinator for a Phase I study of pain medication, and more recently in a general and specialized surgical practice. In addition to her work experience, Sharon serves as an Advocate Grant Reviewer for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation at the local and national level.
In her role as the Cancer Care Navigator, Sharon is an advocate for all who have cancer, or for those who are concerned about cancer. She is a guide and personal care coach. In this role, she can facilitate access to services, be a source of accurate information, coordinate and connect patients and families to financial, transportation, rehabilitation and psychosocial support, which may be difficult to access on one's own. Services made available include those provided by Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, as well as those provided throughout the expanded community.
