Inpatient Clinical Drug Trials

The Potomac Unit at Potomac Ridge Behavioral Health Center provides specialized care to individuals ages 18-65 who may potentially benefit from psychotropic medications currently in research trials. The program assists severely and persistently mentally ill individuals who are unable to tolerate the side effects of their current medication or are looking for potentially more effective medications to control their illness and improve their quality of life.

The treatment team includes a dedicated team of physicians, nurses, researchers and social workers specifically trained to work with this population. For individuals accepted into the program, the hospital stay, physician costs and medications are provided at no cost to the patient.
