Acute Unit

Our hospital-based program provides intense therapeutic assessment, intervention and treatment for children and adolescents, ages 5-17, whose acute symptoms require a safe and healing environment around the clock. Our Assessments include:

  • Psychosocial evaluation performed by an Unit Therapist
  • Physical examination conducted by a nurse practitioner or a medical physician
  • Medication evaluation and adjustment, as necessary
  • Substance abuse evaluation with recommendations for aftercare

Our Treatment includes:

  • Individual and group therapy
  • Recreation and art therapy
  • Bi-weekly family therapy sessions
  • Chemical dependency education groups
  • Discharge planning: aftercare appointments with existing providers, intake appointments, and recommendations for aftercare
