The Ridge School of Anne Arundel County is a private, full day and residential general education and related services program approved by the Maryland State Department of Education for students grades 8-12. The Ridge School of Anne Arundel County
- Serves the diverse academic and social-emotional needs of students with emotional disturbance, specific learning disabilities and multiple disabilities.
- Promotes the use of multi-sensory, brain-based instructional techniques to foster a successful learning environment.
Program Components
- Special education and general education programs for grades 8–12
- Average of seven students per classroom, with academic teacher and teacher’s assistant in each class
- Multi-disciplinary treatment team approach
- Therapy services including: individual, group, family, speech, language and occupational therapy
- Psycho-educational assessments
- Certified teachers in content area and special education
- Extra-curricular activities and clubs
- Vocational program (multi-level and multiple interest areas)
- Behavior management and crisis intervention program
- Brain-based learning philosophy and educational teaching model
