Giving Hope To Patients, Families and Loved Ones
hope—n. 1. A wish or desire accompanied by confident expectation of its fulfillment
At Potomac Ridge Behavioral Health System, "best-practice" care and compassion go hand-in-hand. We are often asked by parents, families, and even patients, "How can I say 'thank you' to those who made a difference while a loved one or I was at Potomac Ridge?" Here is one way to do just that.
The Grateful Parent, Family, & Patient Giving Hope Program is a very meaningful way to recognize and celebrate the excellence of care a loved one, best friend, or you received from your physician, therapist, nurse, or other staff while in treatment at Potomac Ridge. This program enables families to support programs and services that may have special meaning to them.
You may also establish an endowed fund in memory or in honor of a friend or loved one. The original contribution to an endowed fund is never spent. Instead, a designated percentage of the fund's income goes to Potomac Ridge Behavioral Health System each year for the purpose designated by the donor.
Each donation will be acknowledged by Potomac Ridge. And, we will recognize your generosity to the physician, therapist, nurse, or department who provided the exceptional care.
Your consideration of this method of giving is a noble one. Potomac Ridge Behavioral Health System is one of the most valuable health care resources in the region, reaching out to people living with one of life's most challenging disorders – mental illness, but, one that is extraordinarily treatable.
The Foundation recognizes that donor support helps us create an environment of excellence in support of the many programs, services (which includes research and community outreach activities), and initiatives that promote exceptional behavioral health care throughout the region. We are very often the “safety net” mental health “system” to the more than 3-million residents in the Washington, D.C. region when no other treatment options exist, regardless of ability to pay.
It is in this spirit that we are deeply touched by your gratitude and share these words from Albert Schweitzer as an expression of our personal gratitude to the spirit of your generosity: "At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us."
