Dr. Chris Magee is a practicing board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon with a particular interest in joint replacement and sports medicine. He has been in practice in Silver Spring, MD and at Washington Adventist Hospital for 23 years. He is also a senior consultant with the Greeley Company focusing on physician leadership and issues related to Medical Peer Review.  He is the Founder of Magee Medical, a consulting firm which specializes in the design and implementation of medical staff peer review programs. Dr. Magee received his BA and MD degrees from the University of Virginia. His clinical training in General Surgery was at Dartmouth and Orthopedic Surgery residency was performed at the New York Orthopedic Hospital of Columbia University. He has served in many capacities, both at the medical staff and Board level within Adventist Healthcare for fifteen years. He is currently the Chief Medical Officer of Washington Adventist Hospital. He has been instrumental in the leadership of several provider organizations in the Maryland Suburbs of Washington, DC. He has lectured to a variety of groups within the medical field at all levels of experience regarding the need for leadership in the healthcare field. Outside of healthcare he has been a frequent lecturer to students in high school, college and beyond on issues related to learning and refining leadership skills.

  • To avoid aches and pains don’t sit in one place or position for long periods of time.
  • Take breaks from driving, whenever possible, to stretch and relieve tension in your neck, shoulders, back and legs. A good rule is to stop every two hours.
  • Proper back support to fit the natural s-shape of your spine can minimize back aches.
